Facebook Changes

So apparently the big controversy over the last week has been Facebook changes. There is a mini feed at the side with constant updates and topics heavily discussed have been pushed to the top of the page. The Facebook changes are going to take some time to get used to but is all the controversy necessary?

To be honest, I may be the only Facebook user that can care less about the changes and honestly don't even mind them. I actually found it a little helpful. For instance I had no clue about this Troy Davis situation that occurred last week (Yes I know that I should be up to date with information like this) and I actually found out about it through one of Facebook's new features. Because the Troy Davis incident was discussed heavily, Facebook put the whole discussion about the topic at the top of my page in its own little feed. After watching others comments and ideas on the situation, I looked up the situation myself and was able to participate in the discussion on Facebook without having to search through my main feed for the topic. Not so bad in my opinion.

As far as the whole idea about Google+ making a come up and Facebook is so awful, I really don't think anyone is going to really abandon Facebook. Facebook has become a major part of everyone's life and something so minuscule will not affect the social media site. There are rumors of Facebook charging users, (I believe is false). Now something like this would make the movement from Facebook happen

  1. I am a full believer in people fearing change, especially since I occasionally fear change too. But when a change occurs on Facebook, just as it has for the past 5 years I am not one who freaks out because of it.
I also could care less about the changes that occur on Facebook, as long as I can figure out how to navigate the site still I don't mind any changes made.

  2. I don't think the cahnge so much is an issue. what really is and issue is that facebook doesn't engage teh public before hand. I think if facebook just did one change at a time a week or two apart no one would even notice or complain. I like one or two changes but hate others, and everyone dislikes something but how often do they match up. The problem is facebook has given everyone an opportunity to say I hate the changes. So we all talk about the changes we hate, but often we aren't even talking about the same change. I hate one change and someone else hates another but we just agree with hating changes. I think they should do them one at a time.
